Dr Simon Dancey steps down as CEO, Creative & Cultural Skills

02 March 2020

Simon commented: I joined Creative & Cultural Skills 18 Months ago to undertake an organisational review and implement any structural and cultural changes, including revising the mission, vision and values of the company. That work has now been successfully completed and therefore this seems like the perfect moment to step down and move onto new challenges, concentrating on my international work and academic research. Unfortunately, due to short term health issues, I have decided to step down as of February 29th 2020.

I would like to thank all the staff for the incredibly hard work they do across the UK with the aim of creating a fair and skilled cultural sector. During my time as CEO, we have delivered the Creative Careers programme across England, the Cultural Ambition project for excluded young people in Wales and in Northern Ireland, awards for trainers and apprentices. I’m particularly proud that we have also appointed a new Head of Scotland post starting in the near future. I feel the organisation and the staff are now in a great place to take its important work forward across the whole of the UK. I wish them all well in the future,

Diolch Yn Fawr Iawn
