Creative Blueprint

Scotland

Context

Ten years steady sector growth in Scotland has lead to a renewed government focus, seen in the new administration's economic strategy which prioritises creative industries support, and through the Culture Bill, in strengthening sector support agencies by establishing Creative Scotland. SSCs in Scotland for the creative industries are working together with the interim Board of the new agency regarding the potential for a joined up skills strategy. The Scottish Government has also published 'Skills for Scotland' which reinforces the role of SSCs, working in partnership with stakeholders, in tackling Scotland's skills challenges.

The Scottish Museums Council was delighted to form a relationship with Creative & Cultural Skills. It has provided an opportunity to share knowledge, experience and access to national networks as both organisations strive to establish a learning culture within the UK and across the cultural and heritage sectors
