Our projects
The UK creative industries and cultural sector are among the world's best. In advertising or craft, in our cultural heritage or design sectors, music or the arts, we are global leaders in all fields. There is no lack of creativity within our industries. But globalisation and technological changes are providing new skills challenges that individuals and businesses have to face.
Creative & Cultural Skills have identified nine core issues affecting all our industries:
- Entry to the Sector: getting that crucial first break into employment
- Management and Leadership: key skills for success, particularly among small businesses
- Business and Enterprise: knowing how to run a business on a local, national and global scale
- Continuing Professional Development: investing in staff development and progression
- Diversity: creative and cultural industries suffer from a lack of diversity
- Qualification Reform: ensuring that our education system provides qualifications relevant to industry
- Information, Advice & Guidance: clear, accurate advice for people seeking to join, or progress in the creative industries
- Creativity & Culture in Schools: quality of teaching, curriculum design and advice are vital in the development of the skills and aspirations of young people
- Industry Intelligence & Research: accurate Labour Market Intelligence is vital for the creative and cultural industries to have a strong and influential voice with government.
We have been charged by government to develop effective solutions for these challenges. Take a look at our flagship projects to see how we're doing this.
