Industry Intelligence & Research
There is a wide variety of research available to the creative and cultural industries. Of the many organisations that represent the sectors, research is considered a core requisite for lobbying purposes, and understanding the industry in more depth.
Describing creative and cultural practices through formal and informal definitions of the sector can be problematic – either providing contradictory data or research that is not considered relevant. As the sector skills council for the industries, it is a responsibility of Creative & Cultural Skills to highlight this problem, and to lead the way in providing consistent, robust, accurate and relevant data across the sectors. This data must enable comparability across diverse practices whilst maintaining a sophisticated understanding of the individual nuances of each particular industry. Industry benefit is essential.
