The Creative Blueprint: the Sector Skills Agreement for the Creative and Cultural Industries highlights that the industries are oversupplied and that new recruits are lacking in relevant skills for core jobs. Entry into the sector, occupational routes and career progression, and knowledge around business growth in innovative small organisations is not clear.
There are over 180,000 creative and cultural related courses, numerous funding streams for training and a myriad of informal approaches to skills development available within the sector. Information, advice and guidance is chronically lacking. For individuals to make important decisions regarding their careers, their businesses and their education, transparent, honest and trustworthy information is essential.
