Sector Qualifications Strategy (SQS)
The Sector Qualification Strategy (SQS) outlines the current and future education and training needs of employers in the creative and cultural sectors. It will be used to shape and influence the development of qualifications and training at all levels, including higher level and foundation degrees.
The SQS vision is to:
"...deliver a genuinely consumer-led qualifications system which delivers what it sets out to do, providing the Creative and Cultural industries with the people and skills required to be successful in a global market, securing world-beating creative enterprise and more diverse cultural industries."
The SQS identifies six key strategic areas of work:
- Strategy 1: 14-19 Provision
- Strategy 2: Apprenticeships
- Strategy 3: Reforming Vocational Qualifications
- Strategy 4: Accreditation of Informal and Bespoke Provision
- Strategy 5: Collaboration with Policy Makers and Industry Partners
- Strategy 6: Sector Information, Advice and Guidance
