ApprenticeWelcome to the parents section on Apprenticeships. You will be able to find out more information about Apprenticeships here and what they can offer young people looking for a career in the creative and cultural Industries.

Apprenticeships are a highly valued programme aimed at those 16 and over, they are available at level 2 or level 3, equivalent to GCSE and A Level. Apprenticeships are not a single qualification but a suite of qualifications (further information available in what is an Apprenticeship). These qualifications prepare young people for a career in a chosen area.

Apprentices are employed and earn a wage while training on the job. This contributes to the achievement of the qualifications in their Apprenticeship.

These qualifications are designed by employers in the creative industries. Apprentices learn first hand from employers they work alongside and gain valuable knowledge and skills to take into the world of work.

The following apprenticeship frameworks in creative and cultural areas are available:

  • Community Arts Management
  • Costume & Wardrobe
  • Cultural & Heritage Venue Operations
  • Design
  • Jewellery, Silversmithing & Allied Trades
  • Live Events & Promotion
  • Music Business
  • Technical Theatre
